advanced course:

Week One

We begin by doing Market Research as well as Exploring Products to Rent or Sell.  We get comfortable with the layout of the course and meet other female students in the first weekly group coaching meeting.

Week Two

We define our business plan, look at the logistics, determine the types and quantities of moving boxes to purchase, and decide on a business name and domain name.

Week Three

We start shopping for moving boxes and get quotes based on Carrie’s recommendations.  Then narrow down the distributor(s) that we will purchase our supplies from.

Week Four

We make things official by registering our name and reserve our name on social media platforms.  Finally we determine the right branding that feels aligned to us.

Week Five

We get access to our websites and start customizing the basic settings, as well as get an introduction to all relevant plugin functionality and a walk-through our new site.

Week Six

We customize our various pages and determine our delivery and product strategy.  Group coaching sessions spend a lot of time on this by brainstorming the right strategy for you.

Week Seven

We customize our products, make our delivery strategy a reality on the website, customize the product categories, and customize our checkout form.

Week Eight

We add a chat feature to our website and start to order supplies.  We also set up banking and business insurance.

Week Nine

We create a method of accepting delivery and pick up appointments by customizing our booking appointment software, customize our delivery pages, and customize our email branding.

Week Ten

We set up everything related to emails being sent through the website, and begin testing our site with test orders.  Then we keep tweaking till we get it right.

Week Eleven

We look at promo recommendations, and set up our customer review strategy and system.  Lastly we set up our accounting software.

Week Twelve

We take a deep dive into all of the hard lessons Carrie has has had to learn from the Rental Industry since 2007, and develop our Rental Agreement and FAQs based on those learnings.

Week Thirteen

We dive into our SEO Training and set up our site for success.  We talk about posting ads and how to advertise for our industry.  Then we test out all processes to ensure we are all set to accept new customers.

Week Fourteen

In our last week, we cover all social media platform set ups and strategies, develop a content planner, and wrap it all up!  We test each other’s sites too and give feedback.

U-Haul is all about DIY.  Carrie shows students how to provide a full service to their clients where they deliver and pick up the totes.  This makes you stand out against U-Haul, and therefore they don’t even compare to your full service company.  They have not affected Carrie’s sales whatsoever.  

Carrie teaches students how to service local customers only.  There are other companies that will offer cross country moves.  We keep our business model simple and only look at customers that are within about an hour’s drive max from us.  But you get to decide how many kms/miles you want to travel.

You can also offer pickup and drop off only, where customers come to your house rather than you do deliveries.  You get to make all decisions here!

You will always have the freebie seekers.  The ones that will always look for the cheapest way to do things and will take any free cardboard they can get from people.

These are not your people!

For the others who are used to paying for cardboard, your pricing will be similar to this.  And once they see the convenience that your company offers, it will be a no brainer to make the switch.

You deliver and pick up – no more hassle during such a stressful time for your clients.

Carrie has 300, and can handle a max of 10 customers per month.  Then she is sold out.  If she wants to make more money, then she buys more moving boxes.  But if she is happy with her 10-15 hours a week (which she is), 300 is perfect.  Carrie recommends that you purchase a minimum of 200-500.

You will need the moving boxes, which are approximately $15-$20 USD per box.  This varies greatly depending on where you are located.  You will want dollies too (around $60 each), a folding table, cleaning supplies, and a large enough vehicle to transport everything.  Carrie uses her family minivan to do deliveries and has never needed anything larger.

You won’t find “Moving Box Rental Communities” on Facebook.  They don’t exist!  By joining our course, you will get a community of women to bounce ideas off of, as well as Carrie who has been in the Rental Industry since 2007.  She shares what to do, and definitely what NOT to do!

You can also be a part of an exclusive community that meets MONTHLY with previous students, so you can grow and learn from each other while you all independently grow your businesses. 

The unique thing is that none of us are competition for each other!  Carrie will not accept people into the program if they are a direct competitor to another previous student.  You can borrow ideas from other previous students and all work together to help each other succeed.  That is extremely unique!
