If you thought Artificial Intelligence is only for big companies, think again. From brainstorming content ideas to blog writing, AI can do so much and it’s just the tip of the iceberg. I used AI to create some of my recent business photos, which has helped me maintain a consistent brand image.

Here are 10 ways you can incorporate AI in your side hustle in 2024:

1. Freelance Writing and Content Creation

AI tools like ChatGPT and Jasper can help you in generating content, brainstorming ideas, and improving grammar and readability. You can create quality articles, blog posts, and social media content. I use it to make a copy I’ve written sound crisper and make the content more engaging and accurate.

2. Social Media Management

Traditional social media tools like Hootsuite and Buffer have AI features that help you find the most engaging time to post. Then, there are newer tools like Tweet Hunter and Replai that help curate content and engage with followers. They can also analyze your audience’s behavior, which saves some manual research time.

3. SEO

AI-powered SEO tools like SurferSEO and Outranking analyze keywords, suggest content improvements, and give you tips to rank the website higher in search engine results. There’s a learning curve for these apps but if your business brings in customers locally and through organic searches, it is a great skill to learn.

4. Digital Product Development

Creating and selling digital products such as e-books, courses, and printables has never been this easy. Canva is one of my favorite tools ever and it needs very little graphic design and color theory knowledge. Canva also has some tools like Magic Design that lets you create completely unique designs and options to directly post on social media platforms.

5. E-commerce

If you are running an online store, Shopify has a great AI tool that helps you optimize your store layout and marketing strategies. AI chatbots for all kinds of websites can support your customer service processes.

6. Video Creation and Editing

AI tools like Lumen5 and RunwayML assist in creating and editing videos from basic edits like trimming, adding subtitles to more complex like color correction and audio correction. They are perfect for YouTube channels, marketing videos, and social media content.

7. Image Editing

Canva, ClipDrop and Adobe Photoshop have in-built AI features that can remove backgrounds, enhance images, and create professional graphics quickly. You can save editing settings and apply them to multiple images at once.

8. Advertising

If you’re running ad campaigns but not receiving the best results, you aren’t using the tools offered properly. All ad platforms – Meta, Google, and even Tiktok have tools to generate ad creatives, write ad copies, and optimize ad spend on a day to day basis.

10. Music Generation

Music costs can add up quickly because of royalties, and as a small business you might not have the budget for it. Instead, use AI tools like AIVA and Amper Music to create unique tracks for use in videos, games, and marketing campaigns.

Play around with these tools. Many of them offer free trials, so you can experiment with two to three apps in each category. For weekly side hustle tips and advice, follow Carrie’s Courses!
